It's one of my top five gaming soundtracks so having this be a lot of people's first impression of the soundtrack sucks. I've listened to the soundtrack a lot over the years, including between this playthrough and the last time I played it, and the quality of the soundtrack on the Gamecube version is worse than I remembered. Playing through again also makes me feel really sad about the audio quality. I have no idea how I ever made that trek to the continent under the green moon back in the day, even without random battles it took a while due to the winds and checking out the various islands along the way for discoveries - my memory might be playing tricks on me but I feel like it took me an entire night of playing back when I played the Dreamcast version originally. Rez is a defining title for Sega’s Dreamcast that operates like a rail shooter, yet is driven by the impulses of a rhythm game. The game was also to be released for the PlayStation 2, but was canceled prior to the GameCube release. The subtitle 'Legends' was added to distinguish it from the original release of 2000, coming out two years later. The game features slightly improved graphics, more weapons, and extra side missions. So I decided to use cheats to max out my characters and disable random battles (though this bit me on the ass when I got to the part on the deserted island with Vyse, since you need to collect food at one point and I forgot it drops from random battles so I stupidly ran around the island for a while looking for stuff on the ground before just looking it up), and I'm having a great time experiencing the world again. Some games are incredibly simple in premise, but they nail the execution so perfectly that they become instant classics. Skies of Arcadia Legends is an enhanced port of the Dreamcast RPG Skies of Arcadia. Actually, it's continuing a playthrough I'd started many months ago, but this far removed from when the game came out I just can't deal with the battle system anymore, lol. I'm doing a playthrough via Dolphin on my Series X right now. Skies of Arcadia has always featured some excellent music, but the sound quality is a bit below par in the Gamecube port. Click to shrink.Yes, but it's still not great, and the battles feel really slow.
